Understanding the Overhaul Lifecycle
Every hyperbaric chamber has a service life. Staying on schedule with your Mechanical Overhaul (MOH) and Cylinder Overhaul (COH) keeps your chamber safe, compliant, and reliable.
Both services are vital but focus on different systems. The MOH is done every 10 years, while the COH happens at 20 years to protect the chamber’s structure and extend its life.
⸻
10-Year Mechanical Overhaul (MOH)
A Mechanical Overhaul focuses on your chamber’s moving parts — the systems that make it run smoothly day after day. It renews the mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical functions so the chamber performs like new.
What’s Included
BaroServ’s MOH process includes:
- Full disassembly and inspection of valves, gauges, and regulators
- Replacement of seals, tubing, and worn pneumatic parts
- Cleaning and calibration of the flow computer and control system
- Testing and repair of electrical switches, lamps, and phone systems
- Reconditioning of the safety door locking mechanism
- Cleaning and replacement of filters, mufflers, and silencers
- Final pressure testing to verify NFPA-99 and ASME/PVHO-2 compliance
BaroServ also completes model-specific calibrations for Sechrist and Perry Sigma chambers, including actuator valve replacement and software checks.
The BaroServ Advantage
Most OEMs require weeks and often ship chambers off-site. BaroServ finishes MOH projects in only 2–3 days on-site. Our certified technicians work directly in your facility to reduce downtime and avoid transport delays — saving time, money, and stress.
⸻
20-Year Cylinder Overhaul (COH)
The Cylinder Overhaul is the most extensive service milestone. It focuses on the acrylic pressure vessel and structure that hold the chamber’s pressure. This work ensures your chamber remains safe, strong, and compliant for the next 20 years.
What’s Included
BaroServ’s COH includes:
- Removing and replacing the acrylic cylinder (“window”) with new seals and gaskets
- Performing non-destructive testing and pressure certification per ASME/PVHO standards
- Reconditioning all valves, regulators, and manifolds
- Servicing the door assembly, hinges, and handles
- Calibrating gauges, transducers, and electronic controls
- Checking all electrical and grounding systems for NFPA-99 compliance
- Replacing the master valve and tie-rod assembly to factory torque specs
Each COH is completed on-site in about three days, avoiding long OEM delays or the need to ship your chamber.
Why BaroServ Leads the Industry
BaroServ delivers precision and speed that OEMs can’t match. We complete overhauls faster, without sacrificing quality or safety. Each project includes a 90-day warranty on labor and components plus a 10-year warranty on the acrylic cylinder. That means confidence and long-term protection for your investment.
⸻
Why Timely Overhauls Matter
Putting off an overhaul can cause compliance issues, downtime, or even safety risks. Regular MOH and COH services:
- Keep your system compliant with NFPA-99 and PVHO-2
- Prevent costly emergency repairs
- Extend the life of your chamber
- Keep patient treatments running on time
Your hyperbaric chamber is a major investment. Regular service keeps it running safely and saves money over time.
